Purpose · why Iterum exists

Disconnect to reconnect.

Iterum Corporation exists for one thing only: that whoever plays puts the screen down a little more aware of why they picked it up.

By connecting to everything, we have lost the ability to know what we are connected to. We have lost the connection with our purpose, with our values, and even with God.

Did we lose it, or was it taken from us?

I

Disconnection

The tower builds itself. Every tool demands another, and in the end nobody remembers why it was started.

We have no interest in tying players down through their dopamine. Our aim is to create stories that make you think; the medium is interactive and fun, but we are against multi-million leverage, labour exploitation, microtransactions, filler hours added to justify a price, and addiction to video games and the internet.

We love technology, but we love the real world too.

II

Reconnect with people

What matters happens face to face with someone real. We design so the game gets talked about, argued over and recommended out loud, not consumed alone against the clock.

III

Conscious use

Technology is neither good nor bad: it is a force you have to look in the eye. We want whoever plays to leave with a question about how and why they use what they use. And with the urge to switch the console off.

The purpose is played, not read. Singular is the first iteration.
